Together for a successful timber economy

We work very closely with the forest owners. Much of our timber comes from public lands and we have long term contracts with the states to supply our mills on a sustainable basis. There is also much private timber available and we co-operate closely with many of the major land owners. With our strong commitment to export markets we are not held hostage to the German lumber market, which enables us to maintain long term production goals.

Our timber purchasers pay special attention to the origin of our wood. Sustainability is a key principle. Most of our timber comes from managed forests, which are not threatened by over harvesting. On the contrary: sustainable wood harvesting practices actually promote healthy forest development. In addition under German forest practises, the rate of wood harvesting can never exceed the rate of regeneration.
